In March 2019 we began the selection of the highest quality Coffea arabica seeds. Great genetics are the base for our outstanding coffee.
After seed selection, we developed the germinator beds where we planted the seeds. Once the seeds reached maturity, we transferred them to the nursery.
We have now 25 acres of specialty coffee planted in Buenavista Alta, soon to be made avaialble to you.
Varieties matter! Not just in terms of how they taste, but in terms of how the behave and respond to the microclimate, feeding, soil conditions as well as disease response. It has been an adventure, to say the least.
We built our coffee house using Compressed Earth Blocks (CEBs). CEBs are an environmentally friendly building material known for their durability and sustainability. Their high thermal mass helps regulate temperature, keeping our house comfortable in both hot and cold weather.
In Buenavista Alta, expansive protected native forests provide a habitat for a wide variety of wildlife, including the Andean motmot, sparrowhawks, butterflies, snakes, wild turkeys, armadillos, tayras, deer, and many other species. Our coffee operation plays an active and crucial role in preserving this biodiverse ecosystem by protecting and maintaining their natural habitat.
The finished product! Ample corridors to be enjoyed with great company.
