We cultivate our specialty coffees nested among protected corridors of centuries-old Colombian oak trees (Quercus humboldtii) and eucalyptus trees (Eucalyptus grandis) on our farm, Buenavista Alta at 2,000 to 2,200 meters (6,560 to 7,220 ft) above sea level, near the historic city of Popayán, Colombia.
In the height of the Andes, and in the rich soil of the neighboring Puracé and Sotará volcanoes, the cherries from our coffee trees mature slowly and develop deep flavors. With the perfect combination of sun and rain throughout the year, the breathtaking mountains of Buenavista Alta and its surrounding region have an optimal micro-climate for growing some of the world's best coffee.
Our commitment extends beyond our land and into our local community. Our vertically integrated approach ensures that more of the revenue stays with the neighboring coffee farmers and their families. They help us tend to the plants and harvest the coffee, and when we sell the beans, a portion of the profits is shared with them. This way, they earn income both from working alongside us and from your support of our coffee.
We are brought together by our love for great coffee, bonded by a sense of community and the belief that we all need to lift one another towards prosperity.
